Speech Tools
By “Speech Tools” we mean a range of methods that a stutterer can use to avoid stuttering. We have two, basic types of tools: (1) Those that address individual words (“Crutches”) and (2) those that address other words that crop-up during conversations (“Speech Plans”).
Most stuttering began with problems with individual words, such as saying one’s name or other names or words for which there is no substitute. The inability to say those individual words then snowballed into other words. A good many stutterers can stop stuttering by simply learning how to say any individual word, anywhere, anytime to anybody. Our Crutches 1-8 enable utterers to say Read more...
Read Aloud
Daily reading aloud is an essential practice to stop stuttering.
To achieve maximum benefit from reading aloud, you must read aloud correctly. You should practice reading at a slow and measured pace with modulation, emotion, annunciation, pauses, links, and stops. To hear how to read aloud properly, we provide topics in categories which are read aloud by Lee G. Lovett.
We encourage you to select StopStutter topics provided, then listen to Coach Lovett read each properly. Then, you should record your voice reading the topic aloud. Finally, you should play back your recording and compare it to Coach Lovett’s recording of the Read more...
Mind Training
Mind-training is a vital tool which leverages neuroplasticity, or the brain’s ability to change itself. Science has proven that as we change our thoughts, such new thoughts strengthen and create new neural connections which, in turn, change how we think, behave, and feel. Frequently repeated words and thoughts, also called affirmations, can be used to re-program our subconscious minds, thus changing our speech, elevating our lives, and creating new core beliefs.
StopStutter provides ten positive affirmations, or short declarative statements, which focus on increasing fluency and elevating your life. When you have completed a 30-day streak without a bad stuttering incident, we then allow you to customize the Read more...

Most stuttering began with problems with individual words, such as saying one’s name or other names or words for which there is no substitute. The inability to say those individual words then snowballed into other words. A good many stutterers can stop stuttering by simply learning how to say any individual word, anywhere, anytime to anybody. Our Crutches 1-8 enable nearly all stutterers to say any individual word, anywhere, anytime to anyone. These take some time to learn, but they’re not hard. When these are learned well, stuttering will stop for a great many stutterers.
Stuttering that occurs within conversations can best be handled with our Speech Plans. The shortest, simplest one is “Short-Link-Stop”, which is explained in this mobile app. The longer you have been stuttering and the more frequently that you stutter the more you will need Speech Plans and the longer it may take until you break the stutter-habit-chain (the automatic habit of hesitating, thinking words, fearing, and forcing them).
Neurologists tell us that the human mind thinks sequentially; that is, one thought at a time. Put differently, the human mind cannot think two things at once. When you use our Methods, you will be actively and aggressively thinking our solutions. “Evil cannot enter the mind already full,” as said the great metaphysician. When you are thinking solutions (our Methods in this case), you will block the habit of stuttering, leaving you stutterless at that time. After a while, you will create a new habit of thinking solutions, and you will unlearn the stutter-habit by disuse. How long this takes varies a lot, but on average, it takes 2 to 3 months to break the stutter-habit, but more severe and deeper engrained stuttering can take much longer. In the end, nearly all can stop stuttering
You can meet hundreds of us who have stopped at World Stop Stuttering Association, the world’s only community of EX-stutterers and those fast becoming ex-stutterers. Attend our Saturday Speech Club meetings and join the daily practice groups that practice speech tools and stop their stuttering every day.
It takes concentration and practice of course, and that is what this mobile app shows you how to do.
You can personalize your experience by favoriting specific Crutches and Speech Plans and saving to your Tool Kit, which is accessible from your home screen. The flexibility to edit and revise your Took Kit ensures that the plan evolves with your progress and comfort levels. Your Took Kit serves as a quick reference, providing you with a seamless way to track your growth and maintain a set of strategies for effective speaking.
You can might even save your Took Kit your phone's home screen. That way, in high-pressure speaking situations, you can simply glance at your phone to recall your personalized crutches and speech plans. Having your speech plan as a visual guide on the lock screen offers a quick and discreet way to maintain composure during challenging speaking situations.
Finally, we highly recommend that you join a daily Group Practice Session, as often as you are able. Practicing Crutches & Speech Plans with others on your journey will expedite your success while making friends in our community

The StopStutter® Daily Routine section is the most important feature of our program. Every day, you must complete your Daily Routine in order to stop stuttering.
Most stutterers stop stuttering within 2-3 months by applying The Neuroscience Method®. As you learn our tools and techniques (also called Crutches and Speech Plans), you need to achieve 30 consecutive days without "bad incidents,” or appearing to be speech disabled to non-stutterers.
Track Victories or Bad Incidents:
Each day, you will record a “Victory” or “Bad Incident(s)” regarding whether you had a bad incident the previous day. If you had a bad incident, you will describe it, then search Speech Tools to identify which tools will enable you to avoid yesterday’s incident(s) in the future.
Reading Aloud:
Reading aloud, by itself, has beaten stuttering for some. Hearing stutterless speech trains the mind to expect and deliver stutterless speech. The more time you read aloud, the faster you will stop stuttering
Practice Speech Tools:
The most important element to stop stuttering is to avoid hearing yourself stutter, so you must master our 8 Crutches and most important Speech Plans to ensure you possess all possible techniques to avoid bad incidents. Our Crutches are temporary.. That is, once you know the Crutches well, fear dies, and the Crutches will no longer be needed.
